
Born in Leicestershire, Simon Crump studied philosophy at Sheffield University and has lived in Sheffield for the last thirty years. He has a B.A. Hons in Philosophy, University of Sheffield, 1982; MA Fine Art Sheffield Hallam University, 1992; PhD. University of Huddersfield, 2015, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. An internationally exhibited artist, he has lectured in fine art and photography at various universities and is now Senior Lecturer in creative writing at The University of Huddersfield. His stories have appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies and he is the author of My Elvis Blackout , Monkey’s Birthday, and Twilight Time (Bloomsbury). His most recent collection Neverland, was published by Old Street. He has one collection, Mental Hospital Hair, currently with his agent.
