
Kate Singer has published numerous essays, stories, and poems in various academic and literary journals, and anthologies. Most recently she was awarded the Nancy Zafris Short-Story Fellowship at Porches Writing Retreat in Norwood Virginia. She has a Ph.D. in American Studies from Rutgers University-Newark, and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Singer teaches in the History and African-American Studies Department at Rutgers University-Newark and is a board member of the Society for the Study of the Short Story.
